DEMI OF BALTIMORE

Demi of Baltimore
Today I want to rave about this restaurant I went to during my college senior year. It's a neat little place called Demi. I was having my winter blue back then, but eating here really cheered me up, and that's what matters the most to me. There's another restaurant named Crush at the upper level with its own charm as well, and I recommend both places. For now, I just focus on Demi. Everything about this place just screams for big success, from the wonderfully flavored and artistically presented dishes to the well decorated ambience and friendly services. I almost felt bad eating the food since everything looked so pretty. I remembered thinking how lovely the ingredients embraced and highlighted each other's flavors and textures. The waiter was informative about wine pairing, so the experience was definitely a blast. And yes, did I mention he looked cute too?

My "smart" phone put on a mentally-challenged fit and refused to work, so I guess putting some of the restaurant's own photos is the best way to show you what I'm talking about. I had some of the dishes shown below, and ate off the plates of my friends a bit too much more than what I should have, I think.

1. Pepper crusted tuna, vanilla soy broth, caramelized rice, sriracha aioli

2. Crab crusted salmon, kabocha squash curry, pickled carrot
3. Curry roasted fingerlings, romaine, haricot vert, confit tomato, yuzu-garlic emulsion

4. Spice crusted beef carpaccio, truffled mushroom emulsion, asian pear, mint

5. Diver sea scallops, brussel sprouts, oyster mushroom, golden raisin puree

6. Sriracha braised chicken in the wok

This is their Facebook page. Go take a look while I get a towel to wipe off my drool, totally.
